Adoption Process

1. Review Available Pets

Ready to welcome a furry companion into your life? Start by exploring our adoptable cats and dogs through Petfinder.

3. Meet and greet

Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only and after your online application has been submitted and approved.

Location Options:

Chesapeake Beach, MD
Arnold, MD (Please note: The Arnold location has a limit on the number of animals that can be introduced.)

If compatibility allows, we’re happy to introduce you to multiple dogs or cats. We kindly ask that all household members, including resident dogs, attend the meet and greet.

What We Recommend To Bring (For Dogs):

A martingale collar and a double-loop leash

(Don’t worry—if the collar doesn’t fit properly, we have donated ones available for exchange.)

Please note that we do not hold animals, though special exceptions may be made with prior approval.

What We Recommend To Bring (For Cats):

A cat carrier

Adoption Fees:

All adoption fees must be paid the same day, unless other arrangements have been approved in advance. We accept:

To get started, please fill out our online application. Once submitted, we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have as we begin processing your application.

What to Expect Next:

As part of our process, we’ll reach out to the following:

• Two personal (non-relative) references

• Your current or previous veterinarian

• And you—during a friendly ZOOM video call!

This virtual meeting gives us a chance to connect, learn more about your family, and take a quick virtual tour of your home. It’s a great opportunity to discuss what you’re looking for in your ideal pet match!
